MINUTES
VILLAGE OF ST HELENA
PLANNING BOARD MEETING OF June 7, 2012

Present were Chairman Jimmy English, Gerald Velie, Teresa Coleman, Melvin James, Katrina Banks, Mack Smith, and Village Inspector Louis Hesse.

The meeting was called to order by Jimmy English.

The Village Council requested that we take another look at Article 22.  After much discussion and majority vote, the Planning Board agreed to reread the information and make a final recommendation at our next meeting. Originally, the Planning Board had voted to eliminate Article 22.  We also made a request that the Village Council be more specific on what they would like us to reconsider.

Questions were raised as to the differences between subdividing a small parcel of land (as to give a parcel to one’s child or family member, etc.), subdividing a parcel of land into multiple lots, PUDs, and a housing development. Under Article 22 as it reads now, there is no difference and all subdividing of any parcel of land would be subject to the same rules.  Discussions will continue regarding possibly redefining a major or minor subdivision and the rules which would apply to each.
