MINUTES VILLAGE OF ST. HELENA PLANNING BOARD MEETING OF November 1, 2012
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Jimmy English. The minutes from the October meeting were read and approved. Mr. English informed everyone that no application had been received regarding the building of a jail in St. Helena’s industrial zone. Louis Hesse stated that they had called but no further action had been taken. Andy Paluck presented an application for the rezoning of two (2) parcels of land located in a section that is zoned industrial on the southern end of St. Helena on Highsmith Road consisting of 4.83 acres. He requested the land be rezoned to residential. The land in that area had been zoned industrial because a business was already in existence in that area and it would allow them the opportunity to keep the business with the possibility of expansion in the future. The business, known as Coastal Instruments, has since been relocated due to a fire. On motion by Gerald Velie and seconded by Teresa Coleman, the Planning Board unanimously agreed to recommend the rezoning of the aforementioned property. Mr. Corbett informed the Planning Board that Article 24 and Section 22-2 had been reinstated as part of the UDO. The meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
