VILLAGE OF ST. HELENA

PLANNING BOARD MEETING OF September 5, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 by Chairman Jimmy English.  Present were Chairman Jimmy English, Gerald Velie, Teresa Coleman, Melvin James, Katrina Banks, Mack Smith and Building Inspector Louis Hesse

No meeting was held in August.  The minutes from the July meeting were read and unanimously approved on motion by Melvin James and seconded by Katrina Banks.

Mr. Charles White resubmitted his request to have land presently located in the Industrial Zone rezoned to R20.  The amount of land he is requesting to have rezoned is approximately fifty (50) acres, which is about one-half the acreage he previously requested.  The land is adjacent to property which is already zoned R20 and the Planning Board agreed that this would not constitute spot zoning.  It would also leave approximately two-thirds of the Industrial Zone intact.  On motion by Melvin James and seconded by Mack Smith, it was unanimously agreed to recommend the parcel be rezoned to R20.

Mr. Hesse informed the Planning Board that the new UDO books would be available next month.  The Comprehensive Land Use Plan also needs to be updated.  After we receive the necessary information regarding the process and requirements, the Planning Board will decide on how to proceed.
