November 2013 Planning Board Meeting |
MINUTES VILLAGE OF ST. HELENA PLANNING BOARD MEETING OF November 7, 2013 The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Jimmy English. Present were Chairman Jimmy English, Gerald Velie, Teresa Coleman, Melvin James, Katrina Banks, Mack Smith, and Village Inspector Louis Hesse. No meeting was held in October. The reading of the minutes for the September meeting was dispensed. Mr. Hesse provided the new revised copy of the UDO to the Planning Board. Mr. Hesse also informed the Planning Board that the Village Council had approved the rezoning of Mr. White’s land to R20. It was also suggested that the Planning Board consider recommending the rezoning of the remaining Industrial Zone, as well as the existing O&I zones, to R20 as there has been little or no interest in development in those areas and they are not bringing any revenue to the Village. Mr. Bill Baker stated that he would prefer that his property remain zoned O&I. Mr. Velie asked if there was a possibility that the jail may want to reconsider locating in the Industrial Zone. An alternate option was made that the Industrial Zone be rezoned to R20 while leaving the O&I intact due to the surrounding businesses. O&I still permits single family dwellings and offers a little more versatility. On motion by Mr. James, and seconded by Mr. Velie, it was unanimously agreed to table any action at this time. The meeting was adjourned. |
