December 2013 Planning Board Meeting

MINUTES

VILLAGE OF ST. HELENA

PLANNING BOARD MEETING OF December 5, 2013

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairman Jimmy English.  Present were Chairman Jimmy English, Gerald Velie, Teresa Coleman, Melvin James, Katrina Banks, Mack Smith,  Attorney Nathan Coleman and Village Inspector Louis Hesse.

Mr. Hesse introduced St Helena’s new attorney, Nathan Coleman, to the Planning Board.  The reading of the November Minutes was dispensed.

After much discussion regarding the properties involved in rezoning the Industrial and O&I Sections of St. Helena, on motion by Gerald Velie and seconded by Melvin James, it was unanimously decided to present the following proposal to the Village Council:  The O&I section located on Hwy 117 should be left as is.  The Industrial section should be rezoned to residential with the exception of the two most northwestern parcels which are adjacent to the Industrial section in Burgaw.

It was also brought to the Planning Board’s attention that the St. Helena UDO does not have a distinction between a major and a minor subdivision.  It was suggested by Mr. Hesse that we might want to address this issue and he provided some information for us to review.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:20.
