Minutes Village of St. Helena Council Meeting May 19, 2011
Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, Willie Knowles, R. H. Corbett, and Louis T. Hesse. Attending the meeting were Judy Katalinic and Kathy Hone. Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order at 6:30 P. M. Willie Knowles prayed. On motion by Willie Knowles, and seconded by Nancy Jones, minutes of April 21, 2011, were approved unanimously. On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the financial report was approved unanimously. Louis Hesse explained that the chipper truck was declared surplus by Burgaw and after expenses the selling price would be split. On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Nancy Jones, it was unanimously resolved that Louis T. Hesse be the map review officer dependent on county approval. Louis T. Hesse presented zoning signs. Mayor Barnhill suggested waiting until July before considering rezoning. Willie Knowles told the council that streets had been mowed. Nancy Jones reviewed the proposed budget. There was a need to transfer $10,270 from fund balance. A public hearing on the proposed budget was scheduled for Thursday, June 9 at 6:30 P. M. On motion by Willie Knowles, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the council unanimously went into closed session. On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Ron Rampone, minutes of the closed session were sealed unanimously. On motion by Willie Knowles, and seconded by Neil Benton, the closed session was adjourned unanimously. Mayor Barnhill added that on the proposed budget, there was no tax rate increase. Preliminary revaluation figures were used. On motion by Willie Knowles, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the meeting was adjourned unanimously. Respectfully submitted, Mary D. Bakan Village Clerk
