Village of St. Helena Council Meeting

December 15, 2011

Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, Willie Knowles, R. H. Corbett, Louis T. Hesse, and Chad McEwen.

Attending the meeting were Judy Katalinic, Drake and Linda Smith, Rick and Angela Beacham, Marie Hudson, Kay Knowles, Rita Nance, David Nance, Ray Knowles, Sandra Harris, Christopher Nance, Marilyn Tommassetti, Nekki Tommassetti, Judy Hicks, Jared Jones, Brittany Morgan, Nathan Morgan, and Gina Rampone.

Mayor Robert Barnhill called the meeting to order at 6:30 P. M.

Prayer was by Willie Knowles.

Judy Hicks did the swearing-in of Robert Barnhill as mayor, Nancy Jones as councilwoman with Jared Jones holding the Bible, Ron Rampone as councilman with Gina Rampone holding the Bible, and Willie Knowles as councilman with Ray Knowles holding the Bible.

Nancy Jones nominated Ron Rampone for mayor pro-tem, and Willie Knowles seconded this nomination.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Nancy Jones, Ron Rampone became mayor pro-tem by acclamation.

On motion by Willie Knowles, and seconded by Ron Rampone, minutes of November 17, 2011 were approved unanimously.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Neil Benton, the financial report was approved unanimously.

Louis Hesse described a recommendation from the Planning Board for rezoning from R20 to O & I 2265 US Hwy 117 South owned by Drake Smith. 

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded  by Ron Rampone, a public hearing and a special meeting were unanimously set for December 29, 2011 at 6:30 P. M. on the above rezoning request.

Attorney Corbett stated that closing of the Wren property would be December 28th or 29th.

Nancy Jones thanked voters for their support in allowing her to continue as councilwoman.

Ron Rampone thanked those present for their support in giving him a second term as councilman.  He said that it was an honor and pleasure to serve with the board and citizens.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
