MINUTES
Village of St. Helena Council Meeting
January 19, 2012

Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, Willie Knowles, R. H. Corbett, and Louis T. Hesse.

Attending the meeting were Judy Katalinic, Kathy Hone, William Hunter, and Gerald Velie.

Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order at 6:30 P. M.

Willie Knowles prayed.

On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Nancy Jones, minutes of December 15, 2011, were approved unanimously.

On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Willie Knowles, minutes of December 29, 2011, were approved unanimously.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the financial report was approved unanimously.

Willie Knowles brought up the renting of 8 ½ acres of the property recently purchased.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Ron Rampone, it was unanimous to rent the farming part for $60.00 per acre.

Jim Davis asked the council to discuss what to do with old buildings on new property.  He wanted to know if something should be left standing.  There was much discussion about whether anything should be left.  Neil Benton wanted to know the cost separately to tear down each building.

On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Nancy Jones, the vote to tear down all the buildings and clear the area was four to one.  Neil Benton  still wanted a cost to tear down each building.

Mayor Barnhill reviewed the 2010-2011 audit.

On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Willie Knowles, the audit was accepted unanimously.

Mayor Barnhill talked about the possible closing of some ABC stores.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
