Village of St. Helena Public Hearing/Council Meeting

August 16, 2012

Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, R. H. Corbett, and Louis T. Hesse.  Nancy Jones was absent.

Attending the meeting were Judy Katalinic, Mary Alice Southerland, Adam Crawford, Kathy Hone, William E. Hunter, Kim Hunter, Gina Rampone, Judy Hicks, and Jason Tyson.

At 6:25 P. M. Mayor Barnhill called the public hearing to order.

The public hearing was to receive comment upon making text amendments to the Village of St. Helena UDO to delete Section 22-1 thereof requiring subdividers to reserve areas for public school sites.

There were no comments.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the public hearing was adjourned unanimously.

Mayor Barnhill called the regular meeting to order and prayed.

Kim Hunter held the Bible for William E. Hunter being sworn in as council member by Judy Hicks.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Neil Benton, minutes of July 19, 2012 were approved unanimously.

On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Jim Davis, the financial report was approved unanimously.

On motion by Ron Rampone, and seconded by Neil Benton, the text amendment to the Village of St. Helena UDO deleting Section 22-1 was approved unanimously.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Neil Benton, to schedule a public hearing was approved unanimously  for September 20, 2012 at 6:25 P. M. to receive public comment upon making text amendments to the Village of St. Helena UDO to amend Section 22-2 regarding the voluntary dedication of lands within a subdivision for recreation purposes by subdividers.

Louis Hesse commented that the septic system was complete at St. Joseph’s Church.

Louis said that Bill Wooddell needed a permit for a garage.

Jim Davis asked Louis for an update on the status of the Plantation subdivision that had been planned east of Highway 117.

Mayor Barnhill told the council that ABC money would be received quarterly beginning possibly with October.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
