Village of St. Helena Council Meeting

April 18, 2013

Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, William Hunter, and R. H. Corbett.  Absent were Neil Benton and Louis Hesse.

Attending the meeting were Judy Katalinic, Alice Southerland, Gina Rampone, Gerald Velie, Jim Cox with OCS, and Vickie Liebers with Waste Management.

Mayor Robert Barnhill called the meeting to order and prayed.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by William Hunter, minutes of March 21, 2013 were approved unanimously.

On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the financial report was approved unanimously.

William Hunter said that W. E. Newton, Jr. had done some work on North Road.

William Hunter passed out information from DOT on suggested speed limits for Village of St. Helena streets.

R. H. Corbett explained that fines are turned over to the school board.

Mayor Barnhill opened bids for waste collection from Onslow Container Service, Waste Industries, and Waste Management.

The bids were reviewed.  A larger recycle bin and the surcharge were discussed.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by William Hunter, the board unanimously approved OCS.

On motion by Jim Davis, and seconded by Ron Rampone, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
