MINUTES Village of St. Helena Town Board Meeting November 21, 2013
Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, William Hunter, Nathaniel Coleman, and Louis T. Hesse.
Others present were Judy Katalinic, Jackie Davis, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Baker, Alice Southerland, Kathy Hone, Gerald Velie, and Gina Rampone.
Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order and prayed.
On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Neil Benton, minutes of October 17, 2013 were approved unanimously.
On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by William Hunter, the financial report was approved unanimously.
The mayor remarked that the heating system was repaired costing $905.35.
Louis Hesse informed the council that the Planning Board had tabled any action on the rezoning from I-1 to R-20 and rezoning O&I to R-20 in the northern part of the Village of St. Helena.
Louis presented a copy of the ISO St. Helena Building Code Enforcement Evaluation Report of October 1, 2013, stating that there were improvements over last time.
Nathaniel Coleman thanked the council for paying membership for him with the NC Municipal Attorneys Association. He also stated that he answered a request from the auditor.
Mayor Barnhill advised the council that trash and recyclables will be picked up December 26 and January 2 in lieu of the holidays.
It was mentioned that North Road street sign on Highway 117 was missing.
Mayor Barnhill reported that ABC money for the Village of St. Helena for the quarter ending September 30, 2013 was $4,541.95.
On December 19, 2013 the new mayor and council will be sworn in. Refreshments will follow the meeting and all are invited.
On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Neil Benton, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
