MINUTES


Village of St. Helena Town Board Meeting


February 19, 2015


Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Judy Katalinic, William Hunter, Nancy Jones, Kaye Knowles, Louis Hesse, and Nathaniel Coleman.  Neil Benton was absent.


Attending the meeting were Alice Southerland and Allen Serkin.


Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order and prayed.


Allen Serkin, AICP, CZO, Director of Local Government Services, Cape Fear Council of Governments, gave an overview of the Pender County Comprehensive Transportation Plan.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, it was unanimous to adopt the

Resolution Adopting A Comprehensive Transportation Plan For Pender County, North Carolina.


On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by William Hunter, the minutes of January 15, 2015, were approved unanimously.


On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by William Hunter, the financial report was approved unanimously.


Louis Hesse mentioned a few mobile homes on New Road.


Attorney Coleman said that the foreclosure on Memory Lane was under control.


Mayor Barnhill stated that $1,874.72 was received from ABC.


Alice Southerland announced that the St. Helena Community Center Association will start meeting again in March.


On motion by Judy Katalinic, and seconded by William Hunter, it was unanimous to go into closed session to discuss a legal matter.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, minutes of closed session were sealed and the closed session was adjourned unanimously.

 

Upon return to regular session, on motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, it was unanimous to initially pay up to $1,000 for outside legal assistance if needed.
