Village of St. Helena Town Board Meeting

August 20, 2015

Present were Mayor Barnhill, Judy Katalinic, Nancy Jones, Kaye Knowles, Louis T. Hesse, and Nathaniel Coleman.  Absent were Neil Benton and William Hunter.

Attending the meeting were Jack and Stella Murphy, Ron Murphy, Ann Mizerak, Alice Southerland, and Dorothy Naumuk.

Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order and prayed.

On motion by Judy Katalinic, and seconded by Kaye Knowles, minutes of July 16, 2015 were approved unanimously.

On motion by Kaye Knowles, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, the financial report was approved unanimously.

Louis Hesse explained the text changes to the UDO in reference to the Family Subdivision.  There was much discussion and questions were asked.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, the Family Subdivision text changes to the UDO were  approved by a vote of 2 (Jones, Katalinic) for and 1 (Knowles) against.

Mayor Barnhill had met with Randell Woodruff, the new county manager.Some of the items talked about were justifying the tax increase, the purchase of boat ramps, history of the Orthodox Church, and sewer for the district.

Mayor Barnhill had received a check from Pender County ABC Board for $4,817.27 for the quarter ending June 30, 2015.

Alice Southerland announced that the Community Center would be meeting the second Tuesday in September.  The process has started on putting the Orthodox Church on the National Register.

Judy Katalinic said that she had put up the Memory Lane sign.

Judy asked about placing new mirrors in the hall bathrooms.

On motion by Judy Katalinic, and seconded by Nancy Jones, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
