Village of St. Helena Town Board Meeting

December 17, 2015

Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Mayor Pro Tem Judy Katalinic, Neil Benton, Nancy Jones, Kaye Knowles, Louis T. Hesse, and Nathaniel Coleman.  Absent was William Hunter.

Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order and prayed.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, minutes of November 19, 2015 were approved unanimously.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Kaye Knowles, the financial report was approved unanimously.

Robert Barnhill was sworn in as mayor by Mary Bakan, Village Clerk.

Nancy Jones, Kaye Knowles, and Neil Benton were sworn in as council members by Mary Bakan,

Village Clerk.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Neil Benton, Judy Katalinic was appointed  Mayor Pro Tem unanimously.

Nathaniel Coleman told the council that the matter concerning campers was resolved.

Mayor Barnhill announced that the Village of St. Helena is host for the annual dinner meeting of the Pender County Municipal Association.  The date is January 22, 2016 at 6:30 P. M.  at The Heritage Place.  Middle of the Isle would cater the meal.

On motion by Neil Benton, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, it was unanimous to pay the rental fee of $400 to The Heritage Place to be transferred from the building reserve fund.

Mayor Barnhill brought up that the outside of town hall was in bad shape.  The mildew on the siding needed to be removed and gutters needed cleaning.  Window frames needed painting.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Kaye Knowles, it was unanimous to seek bids.  Mayor Barnhill asked Judy Katalinic to obtain bids for this work.

On motion by Neil Benton, and seconded by Kaye Knowles, the meeting was adjourned unanimously.
