Minutes

     Village of St. Helena Public Hearing

July 15, 2010

6:00 P.M.


Present were:  Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, Willie Knowles, R.H. Corbett, and Chad McEwen.  Absent was Louis Hesse.

Attending the meeting:  Linda Leimone, Louis Leimone, Julianne McCracken, Judy Katalinic,  Kathy Hone, Rosemary Smith and husband, Gerald Velie and Mary Alice Southerland.

At 6:00 PM, a Public Hearing proceeded the regular meeting.  The hearing was about amending the UDO on signs.

Rosemary Smith and Louis spoke asking for rezoning to Industrial the area where the I-40 signs are located.

On a motion by Jim Davis and seconded by Ron Rampone, the Public Hearing was adjourned.

St. Helena Council Meeting

July 15, 2010

6:30 P.M.

 

Mayor Robert Barnhill called the regular Council Meeting to order.

The listed above persons were present along with Robert Kenan and Ben Everett.

Prayer by Willie Knowles.

On a motion by Ron Rampone and seconded by Jim Davis, minutes of the June 17, 2010 were approved unanimously.

On a motion by Nancy Jones and seconded by Ron Rampone, the financial report was approved unanimously.

On a motion by Nancy Jones and seconded by Willie Knowles, the UDO amendment on signs was approved unanimously.

On a motion by Jim Davis and seconded by Ron Rampone, the $25.00 per month that the St. Helena Community Association has been paying to the Village was waived unanimously.
On a motion by Jim Davis and seconded by Ron Rampone, it was agreed unanimously, to send out cards announcing the website and address for the Village of St. Helena.

A resolution of respect for Dr. Frank Ainsley is to be presented at the next meeting for approval.

Attorney Robert Kenan discussed the Ben Everett housing situation.

On a motion by Jim Davis and seconded by Ron Rampone, the council went into executive session.

On a motion by Willie Knowles and secended by Jim Davis, it was unanimous to close the minutes of the executive session.

On a motion by Jim Davis and seconded by Ron Rampone, the closed session was adjourned unanimously.

On a motion by Willie Knowles and seconded by Ron Rampone, the regular meeting was adjourned unanimously.
