MINUTES

Village of St. Helena Town Board Meeting

March 15, 2018


Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Mayor Pro Tem Judy Katalinic, Margaret Brinzey, William Hunter, Nancy Jones, Kaye Knowles, Louis Hesse, and Nathaniel Coleman.


There were 22 in attendance.


Sheriff candidates attending were Cina, Brown, Burton, Spivey, Ward, and Cutler.


They each gave a background of their experience and spoke of changes they would make in the Sheriff’s Department.


After this, the meeting was recessed until March 20, 2018 at 6:30 P. M.

 

 


 

 

Village of St. Helena Town Board Meeting

March 20, 2018


Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Mayor Pro Tem Judy Katalinic, Margaret Brinzey, William Hunter, Nancy Jones, Kaye Knowles, and Nathaniel Coleman.  Louis Hesse was absent.


Attending the meeting were Kim Rivenbark, Kate Stewart-Taylor, and David Longinotti.


Mayor Barnhill called the meeting to order.  Kaye Knowles prayed.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Nancy Jones, the minutes of February 15, 2018 were approved unanimously.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, the financial report was approved unanimously.


The text amendment dealing with accessory buildings was discussed.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, the accessory buildings text amendment was approved unanimously.


Kim Rivenbark pointed out that the UDO needed reworking.  It was agreed that she would charge $20 an hour for 10 hours work.


Mayor Barnhill discussed the possible cost of the new town hall would be $450,000.  Robert talked about possible grants.


The present town hall was discussed about a transfer back to the Community Association.  The Village would no longer be responsible for the building.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Nancy Jones, to move ahead with building the new town hall was approved unanimously.


Mayor Barnhill mentioned that Alice Southerland was to work on a marker.


Mayor Barnhill suggested that all should attend the next Community Center Association meeting.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, the council went into executive session unanimously.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Margaret Brinzey, minutes from the executive session were sealed unanimously.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Kaye Knowles, the executive session was adjourned unanimously.


The council moved back into regular session.


It was agreed to let Judy Katalinic order a sign for North Street.


On motion by William Hunter, and seconded by Judy Katalinic, the regular meeting was adjourned unanimously.
