Village of St. Helena Public Hearing

June 17, 2010

6:00 P.M.

Present were Mayor Robert Barnhill, Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Jim Davis, Nancy Jones, Willie Knowles, Louis Hesse, and Chad McEwen.  Absent was R. H. Corbett.

The audience consisted of Judy Katalinic, Louis Leimone, Ben Everett, Charles White, Diane Newton, Alice Southerland, Gerald Velie, Kathy Hone, and William Hunter.

Mayor Barnhill called the Public Hearing to order. 

The hearing was about a request to rezone Charles White’s property from I1 to RA.  RA would require lot size to be a minimum of one acre.

Chad McEwen pointed out the property on a map.

Diane Newton said that her brother had a piece of land next to Charles White’s property, and this piece of land is zoned I1 and she requested it remain I1.  She felt that St. Helena needed an industrial area.

Gerald Velie added that it should remain industrial.

Mayor Barnhill asked if there were any questions.

Judy Katalinic requested the rent of $25.00 per month charged the St. Helena Community Association be waivered.  There were no comments.

On motion by Nancy Jones, and seconded by Ron Rampone, this hearing was closed unanimously.

There was a recess until 6:30 pm when the Council Meeting began.
