MINUTES Village of St. Helena Council Meeting January 20, 2011 6:30 pm
Present were Mayor Pro Tem Ron Rampone, Neil Benton, Nancy Jones, Willie Knowles, R. H. Corbett and Chad McEwen. Mayor Robert Barnhill , Jim Davis and Louis T. Hesse were absent. Attending the meeting were Judy Katalinic and Gerald Velie. Mayor Pro Tem Ron Rampone called the meeting to order. Willie Knowles prayed. There were no public comments on the agenda. On motion of Willie Knowles and seconded by Nancy Jones, minutes of December 9, 2010 were unanimously approved. On motion of Willie Knowles and seconded by Nancy Jones, the financial report was unanimously approved. On motion of Nancy Jones and seconded by Neil Benton, it was unanimously approved that a public hearing be scheduled at the next meeting on the Pender County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan. On motion by Willie Knowles and seconded by Nancy Jones, it was unanimous that a public hearing be scheduled at the next meeting on the National Flood Insurance Plan. On motion by Neil Benton and seconded by Nancy Jones, it was unanimous to schedule a public hearing at the next meeting on UDO changes. On motion of Nancy Jones and seconded by Willie Knowles, it was unanimous : Whereas there is a map of record entitled “Official Map of St. Helena Farms” in Map Book 3, at page 27, of the Registry of Pender County, North Carolina, showing streets located within the Village of St. Helena, that on the foregoing map the streets lying to west of the A.C.L. railroad right of way and south of Blocks 11 and 4, 10 and 5, 9 and 6, and 8 and 7, that this is an offer of dedication to the Village of St. Helena of those streets and that the Village of St. Helena may accept that offer. Now therefore, it is resolved that the Village of St. Helena accepts the foregoing streets. Whereas the Village of St. Helena has accepted those streets lying to west of the A.C.L. railroad right of way and south of Blocks 11 and 4, 10 and 5, 9 and 6, and 8 and 7 as shown on the map entitled “Official Map of St. Helena Farms” in Map Book 3, at page 27, of the Registry of Pender County, North Carolina, and it is the intent of the Village Council to close the foregoing streets, it is therefore resolved that it is the intent of the Village of St. Helena to close the foregoing streets and a public hearing to receive comment on the question is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on February 17, 2011, at the Village Hall, Village of St. Helena, North Carolina. Nancy Jones asked about an outstanding bill to Southern Printing. Ron Rampone explained that the recorder would not work. It would cost approximately $1,000 to purchase necessary equipment. Mayor Pro Tem Ron Rampone brought up paid absences of Planning Board members. On motion by Nancy Jones and seconded by Neil Benton, the meeting was unanimously adjourned. |
